Our sweet new grandson was blessed last Sunday by his father. This is another major event we have not physically attended. We love them. We're grateful to share in part by video and voice. It does make us keenly aware of the value we have for our family and how we make effort to stay connected. We're so grateful for our children and their families and their diligent service and righteous living.
Last week, Linda accompanied a missionary home on a flight to the US. It was a long, uneventful flight, but felt odd being so close to home. She's also fought some wicked virus ever since. It's been several years since I've been sick and I'm not good at it. Thank goodness it's not Coronavirus. There are a lot of people wearing respiratory masks in airports, and the virus is spreading and needs caution. We remind missionaries the best advice to wash hands regularly with soap and water. This is still the best prevention of the spread of infection. Here's an interesting link showing the fast spread over the past MONTH: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_Wuhan_coronavirus_outbreak
We accompanied a missionary to another surgery immediately upon returning from the Flight back ... this time an overnight stay in a nicer private hospital .... This was an environment I could appreciate. And there was a this welded man made out of old surgical instruments. I thought it was pretty good!
We finally had transfers! Prior to Christmas everything changed at 5 weeks instead of 6, so this last transfer was 7 weeks long and we felt the pain of extra anxiety and issues we had to face with challenged missionaries. The 20 new missionaries coming to Hamilton are amazing!! The mission field is being restocked with some good energetic youth! We're so grateful for their example and desire to teach and preach. Here's our last district from over the Holiday Season .... We love these missionaries!
We've seen the influence of those who choose to embrace good and light and apply the teachings of Christ in their lives. We testify that he lives. That following his teachings is the only way to complete, whole, and lasting happiness. There are storms in all of our lives, and more that lie ahead. Now is the time to prepare and strengthen yourself and find peace that comes through living the gospel. We love serving and helping and especially finding and feeling peace.
